Itchy skin with no rash. Can you help?Itchy skin maybe caused from a number of different reasons, ranging from dehydration, allergies, liver or kidney malfunction, scabies (burrowing mites) or poor circulation. Dryness in the skin may not always be seen but felt. The moisturising capability of Goko plus the Centella effect combined with the tea tree oil is ideal for this complaint. The Centella herb encourages the growth of connective tissue in the skin and tea tree is effective as an antiseptic, and fights mites and bacteria. Use Goko twice a day on clean skin and in addition drink lots of water, avoid tight or synthetic clothes which are hot and may aggravate the problem and improve your diet. For skin health eat a balanced diet but ensure you include avocado, dark leafy green vegetables, oily fish such as salmon, trout, mackerel, sardines, herrings, tuna and free range eggs. However limit eggs if you have problems with cholesterol.
Brittle, broken nails. Can you help?Nails are made of protein and the Centalla herb is effective as it aids the building of connective tissue which is ideal to strengthen your nails. Use twice a day, and when necassry. However ensure your diet has sufficient protein and vitamin A content.
After taking a strong dose of antibiotics I have developed a fungus in my nails. Can you help?Antibiotics destroy intestinal bacteria that produce vitamin B, and this can develop into fungal infections. Take a strong vitamin B complex tablet as directed in the bottle, a probiotic either in the form of a tablet or probiotic yogurt. Apply Goko twice a day. The cream's ingredients of tea tree oil will fight the fungus and the centella herb will help build the connective tissue and repair the nails.
Midges, horse flies and mosquitoes bit me badly last summer. As a result I am dreading the summer.Apply Goko every time you go outside. The tea tree oil in Goko is a natural repellent. Diet
Eat 3 meals a day. Balance is important. As a rough guide use a plate and half fill it with either salad and/or vegetables, remember the 5 a day rule, the other quarter with protein and the remainder with good carbohydrates.

De-stress
Ensure you have enough physical exercise, sleep and take time out to relax. A positive attitude is invaluable for your wellbeing.
The problem is that stress amps up the production of certain hormones - many of which have been linked to acne flare-ups - and exercise is believed to help decrease stress levels. A good workout also sends more oxygen and nutrients pumping through your bloodstream.
Getting a good night's rest is a daily ritual that your skin will punish you for skimping on. That's because sleep is your skin's time to replenish, heal and relax.

Skin care for my elderly mother who is seated for a lot of the time. She suffers from dry, thin skin that is sometimes itchy. At time her skin breaks and she also has suffered from bedsores. Can you help?As you age, your skin loses both collagen, a protein that keeps skin firm, plump and wrinkle-free, and elastin, a protein that gives skin strength and allows it to stretch. Dry skin can also be an issue for people with mature skin, especially in the winter. Itchiness and dry skin patches are a common occurrence - about 85 percent of older people develop a condition called "winter itch", which occurs when dry indoor heat or cold outdoor temperatures make skin particularly dry and itchy. Therefore keep her rooms at an even temperature, not too hot or too cold. It is also advisable to wear loose clothing and avoid synthetic garments.
We often start to eat less as we get older. Therefore it's a good idea to eat foods that are fresh and not overly processed. A balanced mix of nutrients, vitamins, minerals and antioxidants should improve the quality on the skin. Biotin, a type of vitamin B, helps replenish skin, along with your hair and nails. Vitamin A is big when it comes to repairing damaged tissue and maintaining healthy skin. Vitamins C and E are examples of antioxidant powerhouses. Do not forget the importance of sufficient protein, fruit, vegetables, olive oil and less sugary foods.
Many sedentary people do not drink sufficient liquids as they find it difficult to move. However it is imperative that they drink to keep their skin and body healthy.

Relief for eczema. Can you help?Various types of eczemas and skin problems have been produced in humans, by deficiencies of essential fatty acids as those found in fish oils omega 3, green leafy vegetables, eggs, flax seed and walnuts or almost any one of the B vitamins. As eczemas can occur from a lack of so many separate B vitamins, spontaneous eczemas of unknown origin can be most often corrected by obtaining generous amounts of Vitamin B. Try a good quality high dosage vitamin B complex tablet and sprinkle wheat germ on your food.
The eczema maybe allergy induced. An allergy results when foreign substances, usually minute protein particles, gain access to the blood. These allergens can enter the in a number of different ways. Healthy individuals having a balanced nutritionally sound diet remain unaffected when exposed to allergens. However a poor diet , high levels of stress and emotional difficulties which increase the need for practically all nutrients, can result in allergic reactions.
