The Goko story

Company founder Eileen Dunmore came across Goko, quite by chance a couple of years ago whilst she was on holiday in her home country of South Africa.

She was impressed by its effectiveness and the fact that is was made from indigenous products. On investigation she was assured that the suppliers of the ingredients were socially responsible companies assisting in the sustainability of their communities.

With the intention to launch it in Britain the product has been repackaged and renamed, keeping in mind the links across continents which are echoed in the branding.

The brand...Goko lion

is modern, symbolic, unisex and reflects the idea of movement and an active lifestyle.

The name...

Goko comprises the first two letters of 'Gotu' and 'Kola' - the Sri Lankan name for the Centella herb.

The lion symbol...

mirrors Goko's cross continental links. The lion is not only an African icon; historically it appears in English heraldry and is still present on royal standards, coinage and on the badges of some Home Nation sports teams. The lion also represents the vibrancy, warmth and strength of an extraordinary country and people.
